But it is also drunk at less formal tea gatherings & parties, and taken daily at home as a health drink. POWDERED GREEN TEA "KOMA-KAGE" is an excellent value, quality powdered green tea for daily health drinking. Simply add a teaspoon (half gramme) of the fine tea powder to a 5oz (150cc) cup, add hot water and stir. High in catechin antioxidants, vitamins and theanine. UJI MACCHA Uji is a town located near Kyoto, western Honshu, Japan. The region is the historical centre for the Japanese Tea Ceremony. Over modern times Uji has become synonymous with fine Gyokuro, high-valued Sencha and the production of superior Maccha. Uji now produces the highest grades of Maccha for tea ceremony use. These teas are also among some of the best and most expensive teas made anywhere. If you are new to Maccha drinking, this is the right place to start! YAME MACCHA
The Yame tea-growing area is situated to the south of the city of Fukuoka, bordering on the mountainous areas of Kumamoto and Ooita. Of the eight Cho (villages) making up the area, Yame-cho, Joyo, Kurogi and Hoshino are fine tea producers. Yame is respected in Japan for its strong traditions in sake, kimono and paper making. The region is also very well known for its special gyokuro tea-making traditions. Today, the Yame tea gardens continue to produce excellent gyokuro and some very spectacular needle-leaf spring sencha as well. The Yame Maccha in this selection are packaged in hermetically sealed tins (quantity, 20g unless stated).

KOMA-KAGE MACCHA
KOMAKAGE MACCHA. The tea gardens of Hoshino are situated to the very eastern edge of Yame, a region famous for its excellent Gyokuro green teas. Hoshino Maccha is made from Hoshino's Gyokuro leaf.
